Veteran Sober Living Program

Introduction

The Veteran Sober Living Program is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and structured environment for veterans recovering from substance use disorders. Our goal is to assist veterans in achieving long-term sobriety, stability, and successful reintegration into civilian life. This program emphasizes peer support, personal responsibility, and access to essential resources.

Program Pillars

  • Structure and Accountability: Residents are required to adhere to a strict daily schedule, participate in house meetings, and maintain employment or educational commitments.
  • Peer Support: Living alongside fellow veterans creates a unique bond and network of understanding, which is vital for long-term recovery.
  • Resource Navigation: We connect residents with VA benefits, employment services, mental health care, and addiction treatment resources.
  • Community Reintegration: The program focuses on developing life skills necessary for independent living and fostering positive engagement with the broader community.

Admission Criteria

To be considered for the Veteran Sober Living Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Veteran Status: Must provide proof of honorable or general discharge from the U.S. military.
  • Sobriety: Must demonstrate a commitment to sobriety and pass a drug and alcohol screening upon entry.
  • Treatment Completion: Preference is given to veterans who have recently completed an inpatient or intensive outpatient addiction treatment program.
  • Commitment: Must sign a program agreement affirming adherence to all house rules and program requirements, including attending mandatory meetings and finding employment within 30 days.

Location and Facilities

The program is housed in a secure and peaceful residential . Facilities include shared bedrooms, common living areas, a full kitchen, and designated space for group meetings.

Program Components

  1. Required Attendance at 12-Step or other Recovery Meetings: Daily or near-daily participation is mandatory.
  2. Regular House Meetings: Facilitated by a house manager, held weekly on Saturdays
  3. Case Management: Individualized support provided by Just believe Inc to ensure access to VA services and community resources.
  4. Employment/Education Planning: Assistance with resume building and job searches.
  5. Relapse Prevention Workshops: Focused training on coping skills and triggers, scheduled as part of the weekly routine.
